Tv Show Review – Prodigal Son season 2

You are currently viewing Tv Show Review – Prodigal Son season 2

I was not expecting to fall in love with a show like this but it blew me away from moment one. Not only is every episode incredibly thrilling, captivating, and leaves you wanting more with every new twist. But they also beautifully portray a man with severe PTSD in such an authentic way and I’ve never seen anything like it.

They openly discuss his struggles with trauma and how he fights to move forward in life despite a career he’s chosen in direct reaction to that trauma.

Tom Payne as Malcolm Bright in Prodigal Son tv show

Tom Payne doesn’t just pull off this role, it encompasses him. The talent and emotion he pours into Malcolm Bright are overwhelming. And his serial killer father played by Michael Sheen. AMAZING! He makes you love him! He’s funny but so manipulative of his family and it’s twisted and delightful now it just sucks you in.

Season 2 begins with Malcolm capture the Penthouse killer. Nicholas Endicott’s body was taken care of by Malcolm with the help of his dad, Martin. This time, the creator of the prodigal son came with new ideas and few new characters who going to play a big part later. Ainsely slowly becoming as like her father. Malcolm’s Nightmares are gone but now he must protect his sister at any cost. At the same time, you have a lot of surprises, romance, escape, and a shakedown.

Martin, and david meets Edrisa Tanaka, an NYC medical examiner with an interest in Malcolm.

Season 2 is not like season 1, new characters, the back story to every character who going to play later. Few murders are shocking and frightening. Every bit you will be hooked up. While some people might compare this show to Criminal Minds, it’s different. With Criminal Minds, it is more of good guys catch bad guys type of show. The last show I like as much as this was The Mentalist, the main character had a way to get into people’s minds and is not afraid to take it to the extreme. With Prodigal Son, much like the Mentalist, the main character has a perspective on the criminals based on personal tragedies.

Martin and Malcolm discussing about case in Prodigal son tv show

The writing in this show is absolutely outstanding. So so clever the way each character is portrayed. You can tell how much thought goes into creating each episode and it’s one of those shows that really has you on the edge of your seat. I hope it will pick up for season 3 as I can’t wait to see what they come up with next.

Martin and Malcolm are searching for a serial killer known as "The Woodsman" might help the NYPD find one of their own.

Every year there are only a few shows that I make a point of watching. Prodigal Son has become one of those Tv shows for me. I can’t believe it’s been canned after 2 seasons.
