GTA 5: How to Make Money Online GTA 5
Knowing how to make money fast in GTA Online is essential knowledge for increasing your bank balance, and believe us when we say you’ll need stacks of cash because (almost) nothing comes for free in this world.
To get your various criminal enterprises off the ground in GTA Online, you’ll need to invest in real estate, which can cost millions of dollars for just a fully equipped bunker or a luxury yacht.
Then you’ll need to stock up on weapons and ammo, as well as some decent vehicles to get around Los Santos and Blaine County, all of which will cost money.
You must speculate before you can accumulate, so here are some tips for making money quickly in GTA Online.
1. Heists
Potential profits: $400k per hour
Heists are the best way to make money if you have three friends, one of whom owns a high-end apartment (specifically the Pacific Standard Heist).

You’ll need to ensure that everyone has a high enough skill level to complete the missions as quickly as possible, but if you can get things done without wasting time, your bank balance will quickly increase.
Doomsday Heists are a good option if there are only two or three of you, but they have a higher initial cost because you must purchase a more expensive facility to begin them. However, you will make a lot of money if you complete the heists as quickly as possible.
2. Special & Vehicle Cargo
Profit potential: $300,000 per hour
These two methods have the potential to earn the most money per hour for the solo player while doing other tasks in between jobs.

They both require you to have an office building and (vehicle) warehouses, which can be significant outlays, but if you focus on these two aspects, you’ll quickly recoup your investment.
For vehicle cargo, you’ll want to source vehicles to fill your warehouse with all 10 unique standard and mid-range cars, with no duplicates, so that every subsequent source mission results in a top-tier car.
From that point on you simply continually export a top-range car and source another one, ready to be exported when the timer allows.

3. VIP Work
Potential earnings: $150k per hour
Speaking of “when the timer allows,” if you’re serious about making money, you’ll want to maximize your playing time.

This is where VIP Work comes in. When you start an organization as a VIP or CEO from the interaction menu, you can select “VIP Work” and choose from a variety of free-roam missions to complete.
These are a great way to fill in the time between vehicle exports, for example, and will increase your hourly earnings.
They won’t give you the same profits as other methods if you only focus on them, but they are good filler jobs. Headhunter, Hostile Takeover, and Sightseer are notable missions to try.
4. Gunrunning/Motorcycle Club
Profit potential: $80k per hour
While those potential profit values may not appear to be spectacular, the beauty of these businesses is that they generate income passively. That is, they will be manufacturing goods for you to sell at a profit while you are earning money elsewhere.
To maximize your profits with these passive methods, purchase a Bunker for GTA Online Gunrunning or a Motorcycle Club and Cocaine business.

Buy or steal supplies for your business, and it will turn those supplies into a product that you can sell for a profit when you’re ready.
If you buy supplies (which is often the best strategy in terms of money vs time), the only input you’ll need to make profits is to sell your accumulated product via a mission when it’s ready.
However, if you leave things too long, your stock will grow to the point where the sell mission will require multiple people, so if you’re a solo player, selling frequently is the best strategy.
5. Time Trials
Profit potential: $50,000 per hour
If you’re good at them, these free-roam races against the clock can be quite profitable.
In the same vein as VIP work, you’ll be able to complete a new time trial each week in between other money-making activities and earn a one-time payout of $50,000 for a few minutes of driving.

Some can be challenging, so looking up guides online for the time trial that week will be beneficial.
When you spend 10 minutes or more trying to complete one of these, your profit margins drop and you’d be better off doing something else with your time.
6. Air Freight Cargo/Nightclubs
Profitability: Lower than other methods.
Nightclubs are essentially a less profitable version of Special Cargo, while Air Freight Cargo is essentially a less profitable version of Gunrunning.
From a purely financial standpoint, you’ll be better off not investing in these businesses and instead focusing on what has already been mentioned.

However, if you’re getting bored, here are some other options to try to keep things interesting. Finally, having fun with the game should be a priority, and if making money becomes more of a chore, it may not be worth the effort.
Always keep in mind why you’re working for money and how much fun you’re getting out of it.

7. Other Resources
There are numerous other ways to earn money, such as contact jobs, races, and so on, but the methods listed above are by far the most lucrative.

Heist groups that run a Gunrunning Bunker while cruising through Pacific Standard, or solo players who juggle Vehicle Cargo, VIP Work, and a Gunrunning Bunker, can all earn around $500k per hour.
However, that requires some serious dedication and efficiency, so if you’re interested in achieving those goals, check out the resources below for more information.
